| Stijn Streuvels, who is a full cousin of the renown priest/poet Guido Gezelle, uses the rural surroundings of his life as the main source of inspiration.
His books deal with the harsh life of a farmer, the struggles they go through, their search for happiness and family.
Although his books are getting a bit outdated, they are still interesting to read, even only to get a feel of life at that time. (late 19th early 20th century Flanders)
