Ernest Hemingway, one of the greatest writers of our time. A genius. Why? You may ask. He is the master of the story. His sense of timing and pace are spot on. And, of coarse, his tells a great tale. His style is deceptively simple and very subtle. His prose is clean and clear. He can, tell you everything, with but a few words. Hemingway was always showing you without actually telling you. Everything with Hemingway is in the subtext. Finally, his works are full of passion from a man that had a fierce love of life. Hemingways words are imbued with that love.

Hemingway is a great teller of tales. His best works, "For whom the bell tolls" and "A farewell to arms" are great and dramatic stories full of adventure and struggle, romance and mystery. He really knows how to spin a great story. All of his works are dramatic and grand. But I think I love Hemingway so much for the small passionate things. A bottle of wine shared with a friend. The feel wind on your face. The light before dawn. The taste of fresh baked bread. A song sung by a passing stranger and how that felt. Hot sun on your face. A letter from a lost love. Morning in a strange city. How the sand feels between your toes. How wonderful it is to sit with a friend by the river. What its like to ski down a cold mountain. Sunlight in your eyes. Dinner with a lover. It's all there in every Hemingway story.

If you love words. If you love, a good story, told well. If you are passionate about life.

Read hemingway.
