| For those who like the Dune books by Frank Herbert, put these books on the bottom of your to-read list. Yes, I know that sounds arrogant of me. But this trilogy is that bad, Anderson and Brian Herbert did a half decent job with the House trilogy, but this time they completely missed out on the Dune feel, unfortunately they also missed out on a decent story or even story build-up.
This trilogy tries to create everything that is known in the Dune universe of Frank Herbert, and that in just one trilogy. This means that there is so much jumping from one character to another, from one event to another, that it gets boring and actually uninteresting. None of the characters rise above stereotypical clichés, and I mean none. The story is so spread out and thin, it's almost a disgrace to the writers.
Seriously, I have read these books once, I will never ever open the cover again. |
