For Mark Leyner, the price of genius is composing epic poetry for Der Gummiknuppel (the German equivalent of Martha Stewart Living, but with more nudity and grisly crime), going on a dream date with Princess Di, plus high-voltage riffs on Senatorial tattoos and minature Barbies who perform microsurgery while dressed in exquisite designer ensembles. Plus, a lot of weird things happen.
