Summary :

Meyer's friend Hirsch Fedderman has a problem...somebody replaced 400 G's worth of rare stamps with worthless fakes. The stamps belonged to Fedderman's client...the client is Spenger, an eccentric mobster who is about to lean heavily on Fedderman for an explanation. In the course of the investigation, McGee gets a price on his head and picks up another regular for the series, Willy Nucci, hotelier and reluctant informer. McGee is aided in his quest by a play-it-dumb cop named Goodbread who might have been the inspiration for Columbo. There are two women compelling Trav's affections in this one, one dangerous and one...oh, okay, both dangerous.
