Summary
:
Haroun and the Sea of Stories is Salman Rushdie's first book written after the fatwa. It's an adventure or fantasy story, where Haroun, a young boy, travels throughout the lands of Gup and Chup and stops a war between the Guppies and the Chuppies. However, Haroun is more than a fantasy story. Hidden throughout the novel are metaphors that seek to make a broader point about free speech, descrimination, and who we are as a society.
