The sea barbarian Rig Mer-Krel and his beloved companion the Solamnic Knight Fiona have an important mission, one for which they need the help of their old friend Dhamon Grimwulf.

But even they are shocked at how far their former comrade has fallen. Together with his new companions -- a cold-hearted mercenary, a passionate woman, and a snivelling kender -- they'll have to find a way to draw Dhamon back from the brink of self-destruction.
