Summary
:
We like to think that the first contact between humans and aliens from the stars will be an earthshaking crisis, probably involving the heads of governments. But ours is a large planet, and visitors won't necessarily be able to choose where they land... or in what condition. Here's an evocative, moving story of First Contact under tragic conditions, and the result.
