Summary (From the publisher):

"Darling, I need you," Dina said. "I'm afraid for my life."

So even though he hadn't seen her since their divorce three years ago, Paul arranged to meet his ambitious, glamourous ex-wife at his apartment.

But Dina never turned up. Instead, when he arrived home, Paul found a body stuffed in his closet - the very dead body of Dina's new husband, the local district attorney. And while nearly everyone in town tried to pin the murder rap on Paul, hired thugs threatened to kill him or kidnap his son if he didn't turn over a missing briefcase that Dina had taken to his apartment - a briefcase he had never seen!

The only people who stuck by him were Martha - his big-hearted, warm-blooded boss, who calmly helped him move a corpse, but trembled when she asked him for a kiss; Hannah, the Congressman's svelte daughter, who broke every code to recover the briefcase - and wound up nude in Martha's basement; and Ben Helm, the friendly, shrewd investigator, who stayed around to nab a dangerous killer - in very respectable clothes.
