Series: Solomon Kane

Summary (From the publisher):

The Hand of Kane follows The Moon of Skulls as the second volume of Robert E. Howard to be published in the "Time-Lost" series. It continues the adventures of Solomon Kane, the first of Howard's great heroes, and contains four stories with an African setting.

In The Hills of the Dead, first published in Weird Tales magazine in 1930, Solomon Kane is led to a hidden, walled city of vampires. Hawk of Basti and The Children of Asshur are partially completed stories discovered among Howard's papaers thirty years after his death. Hawk of Basti - Jeremy Hawk - is a character out of Solomon's earlier days on the Spanish main. The Children of Asshur is probably an early effort from Howard's pen, and it is full of imagination and dreams of empire. A black-beared, war-like race descended from Assyria of old provide Kane with a suitable challenge.

Wings in the Night is one of the most fantastic and action-filled stories that Howard ever wrote. It was first published in Weird Tales magazine in 1932 and involves a lost plateau with a race of winged-men who had been driven from Mediterranean lands thousands of years before.
