Summary

When Joe Brill phones the residence of an associate, Jim Reynolds, he is surprised to learn that he supposedly called an hour ago, requesting to meet Reynolds at his lake-side lodge. Upon driving out there, with a detective friend, they find Reynolds' dead body - his throat ripped out! First published in Strange Detective Stories, December 1933. Also appears in:
