Manly Treegate commands United States Navy brig Wild Duck in the War of 1812, with his brother Peter (nephew of the first Peter Treegate) a midshipman. They blockade British shipping in the West Indies, then join their uncle Peter (yes, it's a three-Treegate novel) now a U.S. Army major, to back up Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans, the last battle in the last novel of the series.
