There were only four of them at the outpost African school. Teachers. Women without men. Idle, hungry and terrified by the vast loneliness around them. So they devised little "games" to while away the time. A few white ants in the teapot, cobwebs in the soup, a collapsing chair...

Then the games changed. From a ritual of hateful playy - they turned to hate itself.

And from hatred to violence...only a knife-thrust away...
