Tale of politics, intrigue and war set in the early 16th century. During their struggle against the Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire, a group of Italian noblemen attempt to enlist Pescara to lead their forces, betraying the Kaiser. The adviser of the young count of Milan persuades Pescara's wife Viktoria to use her influence with her husband, but he has a secret of his own which causes their plan to fail.
