Twelve years ago, a serial killer stalked the streets of New York -- one who seemed to take perverse pleasure in carving ear-to-ear "smiles" across the throats of teen-aged boys. A killer who managed to evade capture by homicide detectives Sgt. Max Greevey and Mike Logan. Now, boys have started dying again, and the task of bringing their killer to justice falls to detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler, and the other members of the Special Victims Unit.
