Friends from childhood, Patrick and Kevin enter the seminary together to become Catholic priests. For Kevin, the priesthood is an ideal; his only ambition is to serve God and minister to his parish congregation. For Patrick, ambition propels him to the highest ranks of the Church hierarchy: the Vatican, and the power of a Cardinal's red robes. With power comes temptation, in the form of a woman both men love, that may destroy their friendship forever.
