Summary
:
Amusing and observant account of Dumas's travels in Spain during his visit for the marriage of the Infanta. He describes--with his own peculiar genius--the beauties of the countryside, the hazards encountered by travelers, Spanish homes, caves where gypsies dwelled, a boar hunt and an encounter with a band of brigands. The book is written as a series of letters to a mysterious lady: did she exist, and if so, who was she? This mystery has never been solved.
