Earl Drake and his partner Bunny stick up a Phoenix bank, killing a guard. As they bolt to the getaway car, their driver, who makes the mistake of getting out, is cut down by a shotgun blast. A guard drills Drake in the arm and Drake takes him down. Because of his wound, Drake decides they should split up and Bunny hole up to Florida with the swag, sending Drake a thousand dollars registered mail every week care of the Phoenix post office. Drake forces a doctor at gunpoint to treat his arm and makes it look like the doc was killed by a burglar. Then one week the loot envelope doesn’t arrive. Drake knows Bunny would never cross him, so there is only one explanation. Drake tears down to Florida to get his swag back and dish out some payback while he’s at it.
