A fragment of an unfinished festival play written by Goethe during his neo-classical phase. The play, in which Pandora herself does not appear but remains in the background as a seductive presence, plays out between the brothers Prometheus and Epimetheus and his two daughters by Pandora. The characters function as symbols of opposing forces.
