When small town car salesman Harry Maddox goes to the bank during a fire and discovers it empty, he hits upon a plan to rob it. Meanwhile, he simultaneously courts beautiful, innocent Gloria, the car lotís loan manager, who is being mysteriously blackmailed by deadbeat Sutton, and carries on a steamy affair with Dolores, his bossís brassy, voluptuous wife. After the heist, the sheriff hauls Maddox in because heís new in town and turns up the heat. But when Dolores vouches for him, she has more in mind than just keeping him to herself.
