"Red Martin is wanted by the law," said millionaire John Harvey Clinton to Dave Reagan. " I want to get ten thousand dollars into his hands. He's holed up somewhere in the mountains with a gang of outlaws. To find him would be a delicate and dangerous business. I don't suppose you'd take a job like that?"

"I'll start now," said the young giant.

As soon as Reagan left his office, Clinton called Red Martin in from the next room.

"You understand what you have to do?"

"Sure," said Red. "Stay out of Reagan's way and see that the ten grand is taken away from him."

"Right. Now get out of here, Red. I'm playing a dirty trick, and I'm depending on you. Do it wrong, and I'll get you."

Red grinned broadly as he turned to leave. "I believe you," he said.
