Up and coming diplomat Peter Darwin takes a vacation back home in merry ole England. He is quickly entangled in an expanding scandal centering on a veterinary surgeon's practice gone bad. Peter finds that it's a short step from race horses dying on the operating table to the loss of human life and he must call upon childhood memories to assist him in determining who wants to drive the vet out of business.
