The Andromeda crew is traversing deep space navigating through a maze of space anomalies, when a surprise attack by an unidentified fleet of ships forces them to cross into another dimension. Suddenly, Captain Hunt is replaced by a green-skinned, cold, logical, more reptilian than human version of Dylan. The crew must band together and choose between obedience and mutiny as they follow a dangerous course into the unknown dimension.

Simultaneously, the real Dylan finds himself commanding a very different Andromeda. His new green-skinned reptilian crew is engaged in a deadly conflict with rebels. In Dylan's original dimension, the rebels are patriots of a civilization he is working to restore.

Dylan's new crew seems to be involved in a vast interstellar conquest that must be stopped. Dylan realizes he must defuse the potentially explosive conflict if he's to survive the alien version of Andromeda.

Ripple effects from decisions made by the two Andromeda crews and their misplaced Captain Hunts will save or destroy both dimensions.
