Roscoe Berry, Vietnam vet. Part-time bartender, and private investigator, is depsondent over the leveling of his family farm on the outskirts of Austin.

He accepts a job to find the missing son of wealthy developer, Calvin Feldman, hoping to work himself through his depression.

As Roscoe immerses, himself in he search for the missing boy he uncovers a boys-for-sale ring operating throughout the southwest. The deeper he digs, the more dangerous things become. He discovers there are unforeseen connections between the exploited children, a murdered professor, and the loss of his family farm.
