When Barlow and his friend White Bear part ways with the Utes in Taos, they still have no clues as to Anna's whereabouts. But their inquiries have won them some enemies - and soon Barlow is accused of spying and thrown in jail. Distracted from his mission by the rumblings of war, Barlow begins to wonder if he'll ever get where he's going - and if he'll ever find the little girl he's been searching for...
