Summary
:
Written about 1958, this novel describes the adventures of Bruce (or Skip) Stevens, a traveling salesman. In the course of a road trip from Boise to San Francisco and back (with stops at Reno and Las Vegas) in search of a good deal on some Japanese typewriters, he joins forces with Milton Lumky, an experienced older salesman near the end of his career.
