Haviland Tuf is an ecological engineer and master of the Ark, an ancient seedship containing material capable of cloning millions of species from a thousand planets. When Herold Norn, the Senior Beast-Master of the House of Norn approaches Tuf with a request to provide a beast to win fame and fortune in the Bronze Arena and turn around the dying fortunes of the House of Norn he duly obliges. However the other Houses will not take this lying down.
