Summary
:
After dying in an accident, Thomas Blaine awakens in a future where the afterlife is a scientifically proven fact, but access to it requires expensive training, so that in practice only the rich can afford Heaven. There is a black market trade in bodies for those who prefer immortality on earth, and Zombies colonize the inner cities. A rare, shorter version of the novel was published in 1958 as Immortality, Delivered. The novel inspired the deservedly obscure 1992 film Freejack.
