Jen Pierce is a reporter for the Wimsy Voice, Wimsy, Maine's three-days-a-week newspaper. When a local man is killed at a barnraising, Jen is the one who finds the body, and she sees someone she knows running from the crime scene. Her report of it to the police puts a new friend in jail. But she soon learns that another new friend had a more likely motive.
