In need of some ready money, Slocum gets a job swinging an ax in the forests of Northern California — as good a way as any to fill his belly with three squares a day. Money isn't the only attraction at the logging camp. The superintendents beautiful daughter is a wanton angel more than willing to take Slocum to heaven.

But hell is waiting for him on the other side. A gang of bloodthirsty Pomo Indians is on the prowl — and ready to cut Slocum down to size.
