Summary (From the publisher):

When Special Investigator Frank Angel rides into the town of Liberty in pursuit of fugitive outlaw Harry Culp, he little realizes that he will soon be fighting for his life. His danger comes not from Culp, but from the corrupt Judge Cranford and Liberty's Sheriff Sherman, together with his sinister deputies.

Unknown to Angel, the outlaw has already been murdered on the orders of Cranford and his stolen loot appropriated. Angel soon falls foul of the deputies when he stops them from harassing a young woman, only to find himself framed and sentenced to six months' hard labour in the prison camp run by Cranford's sadistic henchmen.

Will he follow the dead outlaw to Boot Hill?
