There is much of this tale I would gladly leave to another to tell, for it rekindles deep grief. But it is mine to finish now.

As the only AEldra of cat-kind to dwell among the Nedao, I shared both their agony and their victory in the great final battle. I was more than mere onlooker, for to me, Nisana, fell the nurturing of the Power in the warrior queen, Ylia.

I was with her when the hellish army of seemings marched; with her when the Thullen bloodied the very air; with her when the dark ships sailed.
