The Gate of Ivory:

But when they attend a gathering where the eldest son of the Porath clan is killed by sorcerous means, suspicion focuses on Ran. Unless Ran and Theo can find the true murderer, it will be the ruin of Ran. But among the Ivory aristocracy there are any number of people who would gain from eliminating the leader of a powerful family. How can Ran and Theodora hope to unravel he many strands of intrigue and clear their family name?
