(From the publisher):
The white-born, Cheyenne-raised warrior Little Wolf has spent his life fighting with the white man. But after the massacre of Custer and the Seventh Cavalry at Little Big Horn, he left his rage on the battlefield. With his wife and her family, Little Wolf has created a home in a secluded valley where they can raise horses - and hopefully a family of their own - in peace.
In the nearby settlement of Medicine Creek, the townspeople view Little Wolf's homestead as a precursor to an Indian invasion. While the Cheyenne is off hunting, a posse from the town slaughters his people, sparing only his wife. Taken to Fort Lapwai, she will be used as bait by the soldiers to capture the most wanted man on the frontier.
But Little Wolf won't allow himself to be so easily trapped...
