Abbey McKenna and her brother, Abe, seem like nice enough folks. Having purchased a spread from Andy Reid, an old prospector who headed back east, they appear just to be trying to better their lot in life. But Marshal Matt Dillon's suspicions are aroused when he notices that the McKenna herd has several different brands - and he discover's Reid's body in a shallow grave. Then the last of a fierce breed of warriors called the Dog Soldiers blames the McKennas for his father's death... and vows bloody revenge. Now Dillon must take on the twin tasks of bringing the McKennas in for murder and keeping them alive long enough to get them behind bars.
