Summary
:
The Sandman is a widely acclaimed and awarded series and undoubtebly the most famous work by Neil Gaiman. The series tells stories connected to Sandman, one of the Endless, the ruler of the kingdom of dreams. The Endless are anthropomorphic personifications, like Death and Dream. Were Sandman merely a clever story of clever characters it might have managed to gather the following and adoration it has, but it wouldn't still be regarded as the criterion on which all other comics works are compared to.
Originally published in serial magazine form #1-8, the first album of Sandman introduces Dream, some dreams and several nightmares. Dream, after having been held captive the better part of the last century by an occult order seeks revenge and to repair his kingdom after gaining his freedom.
