(From the publisher):
Princess Anatopsis Solomon does not want to be a witch. She wants to be a knight errant, like her father. But her mother, chairwoman of Amalgamated Witchcraft Corporation, is counting on Ana to help her overthrow King Georges, chairman of Consolidated Necromantic Industries.
On Ana's thirteenth birthday, the Queen announces that she has hired a new tutor: a frigid, corpse-like demi-god by the name of Mr. Pound. She is also bringing Prince Barnaby Georges, the King's bumbling, half-mortal son, to Solomon Castle to share lessons with Ana. Why a demi-god would hire himself out as a lowly tutor, and why King Georges would allow his son to attend classes at Solomon Castle, Ana cannot imagine.
With the help of Barnaby and his cantankerous dog, Uno, and Ana's best friend, Clarissa, Ana soon discovers that Mr. Pound's plans go far beyond completing her education. He is searching for the mysterious Os Divinitas, a relic that holds the power of the gods, and if he finds it, nothing will survive.
