After his first two books to feature superwoman Violet Ray Brant - The Golden Amazon and The Golden Amazon Returns - John Russell Fearn published The Golden Amazon's Triumph, taking his heroine in a new direction.
In The Golden Amazon's Triumph, the Chief Scientist of the Dodd Space Line - Violet Ray Brant, The Golden Amazon - leaves her research in search of clues after a Dodd Space Line freighter disappears with a cargo of precious itumen ore aboard.
Her search leads her to a tiny radio transmitter hidden in the Controller's office, which she recognizes could only have been built by Dr. Carl Mueller - who'd been presumed dead for five years.
The Amazon and her friends make a frantic trip to Venus. They crash in a jungle there. They are trapped by Devil Plants. And they find Mueller.
The menacing Dr. Mueller is living in one of Venus' ancient cities, engulfed in a sea of mud. When they capture him and again head back to earth, their ship goes out of control - even as they realize there's a a V-10 filled with deadly cargo out there in the void, and it's heading straight for earth.
