iblist.com user synopsis

This story operates on two levels:

On the surface, Los Angeles lesbian homicide cop Kate Delafield and her partner, Ed Taylor, investigate the murder of gay restaurateur Teddie Crawford. They waste no time finding a likely suspect, but the alleged killer claims that he stabbed Teddie in self-defense after Teddie made a pass at him. Suspecting that the suspect is a gay-basher, Kate performs her own investigation.

The story's most intense struggle, however, is played out on a deeper psychological plane. It turns out that the man representing the accused in the case is the only heterosexual male who knows that Kate is a lesbian. She fears he will use this information to call her testimony about the scene of the crime into question; and, further, she fears that the revelation will jeopardize her job. Kate must convince the jury to accept her conclusion without compromising her integrity.
