Summary :

It began as just another day on the rugged frontier world called Calabel–a lynch mob was about to hang Kid Folo for running off with the daughter of a local land baron, and the Federal Rangers, led by Cracka Buckshore, were out to rescue the Kid.

Suddenly an odd spacecraft sped into view over the trees, and with frightening speed, robots began to dart through the excited crowd, paralyzing them, trussing them up, and loading them aboard the spaceship.

Soon all of Calabel's two million people were prisoners of remorseless aliens, bound for a world that was flat, where the sun stood still in the sky, and there had never been night. And their only hope of returning to Human Space lay in Ranger Buckshaw, a teenage genius named Nathan, and an improbably alien called the Sun Mel.

All they had to do was find the right universe...
