Summary
(From the publisher):
Three thousand years ago the evil, blood-hungry Dark arose from their deep lairs to lay waste and destroy. Now having been almost forgotten they were once again ravening.
Eight thousand people had reached the shelter of the Keep of Renweth. They had been urged there by the wizard Ingold Inglorion and among them were Gil Patterson and Rudy Solis, who had crossed the Void with the wizard from their own world when he sought their help.
Now the only hope for the beseiged was to seek help from the Hidden City of Quo, to which all the wizards had been summoned. Together Ingold and Rudy set out to cross two thousand miles of desert to the city and to penetrate the walls of illusion that separate Quo from the world.
