As Doctor Dolittle's marvelous animal caravan travels toward London, the Doctor searches for a new and special animal to add to his menagerie. Then one day he finds a brave little canary named Pippinella who, much to his surprise, can sing a lovely song.

All the animals are delighted with the newest addition to the group, and Pippinella's many exciting adventures inspire them to perform a glorious opera about her life. But Dab-Dab, the housekeeping duck, is still wondering, Will they ever see their dear home at Puddleby-on-the-Marsh again?
