Conan has the throne of Aquilonia, however there are those who would plot against him. Four conspirators and the scheming Count Ascalante have hatched an assassination plot, however the Stygian sorcerer Thoth-Amon has plans of his own when he re-acquires his ring of power.
The first Conan story written and sold was a rewrite of the unsold King Kull story "By this Axe I Rule!". Published in Weird Tales dated December 1932.
