Conan, a tribal leader and Octavia, a slave of Jehungir Agha - lord of Khawarizm, are on the ruin-haunted island of Xapur for very different reasons. They find the ruins strangly re-built, at the iron hands of Khosatral Khel, re-born ancient God - and are caught between a giant snake, a vengeful Jehungir, and the primordial power of Khosatral Khel.
