Sam Goodlow is a private eye. He's pretty used to waking up in darkened rooms with a fuzzy head, unable to piece together the sequence of recent, and possibly, violent events. But this time it's different. This time, Sam can't remember a thing - like, whether he's dead or not. Lovers, friends and enemies flit in and out of his world, all with their own secret interests in his disappearance. The puzzle becomes increasingly deadly, and soon Ryerson Biergarten, psychic investigator, is called in. This makes Sam fairly sure he must be dead. But who murdered him?
