Summary
:
Jules Verne did not tell all about Phileas Fogg's celebrated global dash- because Verne did not know all. Not until the 1962 discovery and translation of Fogg's secret diary could the true significance of the famous 80-day global circumnavigation be told. Who was this man Fogg, whose actions were regulated like clockwork and who claimed that the unforeseen did not exist? Why were all the clocks of London striking 10 minutes to 9:00 at the end of Fogg's historic journey? And what other extraordinary humans- or non-humans- were secretly involved in the globe-girdling race?
