Summary (From the author):

Lonnie and Doris Freeman were left stranded in Crouch End. As they walked along the path, they heard strange noises from behind the hedges, and Lonnie went to investigate. He came back through, screaming for her to run, but they soon became lost and separated.

Doris told her story to the local police, and it was said that Crouch End was separated from another world by the thinnest of barriers, one that was sometimes breached. The younger police officer investigated the disappearance, but was also lost between the worlds.
