From the moment young, unconventional Louisa Darwen enters London Society for her first Season, the genteel equilibrium of the higher classes begins to go seriously awry. For Eastern-bred Louisa has her own ideas of what she wants- and finding a husband is (she thinks) not among them. And as the Season progresses, the confusions and misunderstandings increase, plots thicken, deep-laid schemes come to sinister fruition, and Louisa begins to realize that perhaps there are still a few things in the world the Turkish harem didn't teach her.
