Summary
:
In three interconnected stories, Gilchrist explores the love that binds generations, which is as capable of destruction as it is of creation. "Winter" follows novelist Anna Hand's struggle to protect her adored niece Jessie from her estranged mother. Jessie's willful half-sister, Olivia, surfaces in "De Havilland Hand" and the two confront their father, Daniel, forcing him to face the terrible dichotomies of parental love and embrace a peaceful coexistence. "A Summer in Maine" gather kinfolk and friends at a seaside house as they sort through the complicated labyrinth of their lives and loves.
