Summary
(From the publisher):
The Passover meal at Meyer Meyer's home is interrupted when the somewhat embarrassed Meyer, not a thoroughly observant Jew, is called in as the 87th Precinct's expert on Judaism to investigate the brutal slaying of a rabbi outside a Conservative synagogue. A capital J was scrawled in bright, white paint on the wall at the scene of the murder; by the rabbi? Or his killer?
First printed in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, the novelette (it's about 20,000 words) has been reprinted in The Ethnic Detectives.
